Overview
Clear WaveStripe borosilicate glass ball — a handcrafted 5-inch (127 mm) diameter chandelier component in heat-resistant borosilicate glass with a distinctive WaveStripe texture. The diagonal stripe pattern diffuses light evenly, softening bulb glare into a layered, radiant glow. Suitable for chandeliers, jhumars, hanging lights, wall lamps, table lamps and floor lamps across both residential and commercial fittings.
Where it fits
- Multi-arm chandeliers and jhumars — the 5-inch (127 mm) diameter sits proportionally on medium-to-large chandelier arms without dominating a single drop or getting lost on a wide frame.
- Wall bracket lamps — pairs with single-arm or twin-arm metal brackets in corridors, foyers and bedroom accent lighting where a round globe fits the standard holder.
- Table lamps and floor lamps — works as a decorative globe shade on small holders, softening light in reading corners and living-room side tables.
- Restoration and custom builds — a dependable replacement for broken clear-glass balls in existing fixtures, and a reliable repeatable part for builders assembling custom chandelier sets where every globe must match.
Why you’ll use it every day
When you are restoring a chandelier or assembling a custom jhumar, the hardest part is finding glass balls that are consistent in size, texture and quality across the whole set. This ball is a catalogue component — the same part, the same dimensions — so you can order a replacement months later and it will match the others already on the fixture. Borosilicate glass handles the sustained heat from a bulb far better than ordinary soda-lime glass, which means you are replacing it because you want to, not because it cracked. For bulk builds of ten or twenty arms, sourcing from a single batch keeps the colour and WaveStripe texture uniform across every arm.
Light & finish
Unlit, the WaveStripe surface gives this ball a frosted, sculpted appearance — the diagonal ridges catch ambient light and create depth even when the fixture is switched off. Switch it on and the quality shifts: the borosilicate glass transmits most of the bulb’s output while the WaveStripe pattern breaks the beam into soft, layered stripes, reducing harsh hot spots on nearby walls and ceilings. The clear finish works equally well with warm-white and neutral-white bulbs, and the resulting light suits interior palettes from all-white minimalist rooms to richer, more traditional decorating styles.
This is a glass-only decorative component — it contains no wiring, sockets or fittings. Electrical compatibility depends entirely on the holder, bracket or chandelier arm it is mounted on.
Switch off and allow the fixture to cool completely before handling. Remove any existing glass globe from the holder. Fit this ball onto the chandelier arm or lamp holder and verify it is secure before switching the fixture back on. Confirm the holder size matches this ball’s opening before ordering — the ball diameter is 5 inch (127 mm).

Vastu
In Vaastu Shastra, clear borosilicate glass is traditionally associated with mental clarity and openness — its transparency is thought to allow light and energy to move without obstruction through a space. A spherical form has no sharp angles, and in Vaastu a round shape is associated with smooth, unbroken energy flow. When used at an entrance or in a living area, a cluster of clear borosilicate glass balls diffusing warm, soft light is traditionally considered a welcoming and calming arrangement. Arranging an even number of globes symmetrically on a chandelier creates a balanced composition, which in Vaastu is associated with harmony in shared spaces.
Care
·Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
·Spot-clean with a pH-neutral cleaner on a cloth — never spray directly.
·Wipe the stainless steel gently dry after cleaning. Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals.
·Indoor use only unless an IP rating is specified.
·Switch off the circuit before any electrical maintenance.
·Check mounting hardware periodically and tighten if needed.
FAQ
What is this glass ball used for?
It is a decorative lighting component — a glass globe that fits onto chandelier arms, jhumar drops, wall lamp holders, pendant arms, and table or floor lamp holders. It diffuses the bulb’s output and gives the fitting its ornamental form.
What makes borosilicate glass better for lighting than plain glass?
Borosilicate glass has a lower thermal expansion rate, so it withstands the sustained heat from a bulb without cracking the way ordinary soda-lime glass can over time. It also tends to stay cleaner-looking longer because it reacts less with household cleaning agents.
What is the WaveStripe texture?
WaveStripe is a handcrafted diagonal relief pattern on the glass surface. Unlit, it gives the ball a sculpted appearance; when lit, it breaks the light into soft, layered stripes that reduce glare and spread the glow more evenly across a room.
How do I know the ball will fit my chandelier?
The ball is 5 inches (127 mm) in diameter. Before ordering, measure the diameter of your existing glass ball or check the opening size on your chandelier arm holder to confirm a 5-inch globe is the right match for your fitting.
Can I order multiple units and get a consistent match across all of them?
Yes — this is a catalogue part made to a consistent specification, so units ordered across different batches should match in size and surface texture. Contact Jagmag Lights for bulk quantities needed for large commercial projects.
How do I clean this glass ball safely?
Switch off the fixture and let it cool completely before touching the glass. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or rough cloths that could scratch the WaveStripe surface.
