Fancy Lights for Wall – Smoke Grey Double-Glass Tubular Sconce

Fancy lights for wall that don’t shout. Switch this one on and the wall gets a low, warm glow, softened twice before it reaches you.

It is a double-glass tubular sconce. A rounded outer cloche sits over a smaller inner cup, both in smoked borosilicate glass. A slim matte black arm and backplate in 304-grade stainless steel hold it to the wall. It stands 34 cm tall with a 15 cm shade, so it fits beside a mirror or above a bedside table.

Borosilicate glass begins as sand. Silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina are melted together into a crystal-clear, pure glass. For this sconce, smoke colour is added while the glass is made, so the grey is in the glass itself. It is not a coat of paint.

Each layer is shaped into its dome while the glass is hot, then the inner cup is set inside the outer cloche. Our craftsman lines them up so the two rims sit clean and level. The arm and backplate are cut, bent and finished matte black in our Greater Noida factory.

Here is what the light does. Unlit, the glass reads as a quiet, muted grey against the black steel. Lit, the inner cup catches the bulb first and the outer cloche catches it again. The glow arrives layered and soft, and spreads gently across the wall.

Where do fancy wall lights work best?

Bedroom, beside the bed. Fit a pair, one on each side. You get a balanced, hotel-style look and your bedside tables stay free. Mount them about 120–130 cm from the floor for bedside reading height.

Living room accent wall. Place it beside framed art or above a console. It adds depth without a floor lamp crowding the room. Mount it about 150–160 cm from the floor.

Hallway or entrance. At 34 cm tall it tucks in beside a mirror or coat rack. You get a warm welcome without anything in the way.

Study or reading corner. The double glass hides the bulb, so there is no harsh hot spot on the wall or on your page.

The smoke-and-black palette suits modern, contemporary, industrial and Japandi rooms. It pairs well with concrete, exposed brick, dark timber and warm plaster.

Light and fitting

The arm, backplate and cap are 304-grade stainless steel in a matte black finish. Steel like this does not rust, and we back it with a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

It takes one E27 bulb, up to 60 W. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED (6–9 W looks best through the double glass). It runs on 220–240V. It is not dimmable.

It is hardwired, so there is no cord or plug on the wall. Any licensed electrician fits it in 20–30 minutes, and we help on a free video call. It is rated IP20, for dry indoor rooms only.
