Overview
One broken leaf can make a whole chandelier look tired. This snake plant glass leaf is how you fix it. It is one of the chandelier spare parts we make in our own Greater Noida factory, in clear borosilicate glass, 270 mm long.
A long, slim glass stem opens into a wide, pointed blade with fine ribs running its length. The blade turns with a gentle twist, the way a real snake plant leaf does. Hang it on the arms of a chandelier or jhumar beside other leaves and glass balls.
This is a chandelier spare part, not a light. It has no bulb, no wiring and no fitting of its own. You hang it on a chandelier you already own, or use it to build a new one.
Clear borosilicate glass, shaped while it is hot
Borosilicate glass begins with the earth: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, melted together. Nothing is added to colour this leaf, so it stays crystal-clear.
While the glass is still hot, our glassworker shapes the stem, the ribbed blade and its twist, one leaf at a time. Look closely and each leaf carries its own small difference in the curve.
Switch the chandelier on and light passes straight through the clear glass. The ribs catch it and break it into thin lines of sparkle. Borosilicate also handles the warmth near a bulb well, so it stays clear year after year.
