Overview
One cracked glass on a chandelier, and the whole piece looks unfinished. This small clear glass ball 70mm puts it right.
It is a round ball of clear borosilicate glass with soft ribs running top to bottom, like a little pumpkin. An open neck with a matte ground rim lets it sit on a chandelier arm or holder. It is a spare part, not a light: one glass ball, ready to fit into the piece you already love.
What is this borosilicate glass ball made of?
Borosilicate glass begins as natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, melted together until they run like honey.
Our glassblower gathers that molten glass and blows it by mouth into a ribbed form. Each ball is shaped by hand, so the ribs can vary a touch from one ball to the next. That is the mark of the hand, not a flaw.
Nothing is added to colour it. Light passes through the clear glass clean, and the ribs bend it into soft lines of sparkle without tinting it. Borosilicate glass is also stronger and handles heat better than ordinary glass, which suits a fitting that stays on for hours every evening.
Where does a 70 mm glass ball fit?
At 70 mm across, it suits the small arms of multi-arm chandeliers and jhumars. It also works as a compact diffuser, shade element or decorative add-on on wall lights, hanging lights, table lamps and floor lamps.
It sits comfortably beside hanging-light parts such as rods and chains, in modern and classic designs alike, in homes, hotels and commercial spaces. Before you order, measure the opening on your holder or arm. If you are not sure it will match, send us a photo and we will check the neck size for you.
Why a 3 mm glass wall matters
The glass wall is a sturdy 3 mm thick. That makes the ball less likely to break while you fit it, and over years of use. For designers, restorers and anyone bringing an old jhumar back to life, it is a dependable piece to build with or replace.

FAQ
Is this a finished light?
No. It is a single clear glass ball, a spare part for a light you already have. It has no holder, bulb or wiring.
How big is the clear glass ball?
It is 70 mm across, with a glass wall 3 mm thick. That size suits the small arms of most multi-arm chandeliers and jhumars.
Is it real borosilicate glass?
Yes. It is clear borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, then blown by mouth and shaped by hand. Borosilicate is stronger and handles heat better than ordinary glass.
Will it fit my chandelier?
It fits most holders and arms made for a 70 mm glass ball. Measure the opening on your fitting before you order, or send us a photo and we will check the neck size for you.
How do I clean the glass ball?
Switch the light off and let the glass cool first. Wipe it with a soft cloth and mild soapy water, then dry it. Avoid rough pads, which can scratch the ribs.
How fast will it reach me?
A ball in stock ships within 4 working days. If it is out of stock, we make it in 12–15 working days, and a custom size or colour takes 15–20 days. Shipping is free across India.
