Borosilicate Glass Ball – 5 Inch WaveStripe Clear Chandelier Component
A 5-inch clear borosilicate glass ball for chandeliers and jhumars, wrapped in raised WaveStripe ribs. The ribs are handcrafted into the glass, so they catch the light and spread it in soft bands. It is the same 127 mm part every time, so a new ball matches the ones already on your fixture.

Overview
One cracked ball can make a whole chandelier look tired. This borosilicate glass ball puts it right. It is 5 inches (127 mm) across, clear, and wrapped in raised WaveStripe ribs that turn a plain bulb into soft bands of light.
It is a spare part, not a full light. It fits onto the holder of a chandelier arm, a jhumar drop, a wall bracket or a lamp, and gives that fitting its shape and its glow.
Clear borosilicate glass, shaped by hand
Borosilicate glass starts as natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. Melted together, they make glass that stays crystal-clear and pure.
The WaveStripe pattern is handcrafted into the surface. Bands of raised ribs curve across the ball and cross over each other, like thread wound around a spool. No colour is added, so this is clear borosilicate glass, the way it comes out of the furnace.
Switched off, the ribs catch the room’s light and give the ball depth. Switched on, they break the beam into soft, layered stripes. Hot spots on the wall and ceiling soften, and the glow spreads more evenly.
Where a 5-inch glass ball fits
- Chandeliers and jhumars. At 127 mm, it sits in proportion on medium to large arms. It does not crowd a single drop or get lost on a wide frame.
- Wall bracket lamps. Single-arm or twin-arm brackets that take a round globe on a standard holder.
- Table and floor lamps. A decorative globe shade on a small holder, softening the light beside a chair or sofa.
- Repairs and custom builds. Replace a broken clear ball on an old fixture, or build a set where every globe must match.
It looks right with fittings in an antique brass, antique bronze or gold finish. Want two textures on one jhumar? Mix it with our ribbed borosilicate glass globe, also 5 inch and clear.
Why a matching spare matters
The hardest part of fixing a chandelier is finding a ball that matches the rest. Size, texture and clarity all have to agree.
This is a catalogue part. Same glass, same size, same WaveStripe pattern. Order one today or another next year, and it will sit beside the balls already on your fixture. For a build of ten or twenty arms, order from one batch and every arm matches.
Borosilicate glass also handles the steady heat from a bulb far better than ordinary glass. So you replace it because you want to, not because it cracked.
Fitting it on your holder
This ball is glass only. It has no wiring, socket or fitting of its own, so it works with whatever holder, bracket or arm you fit it to.
Before you order, measure the ball on your fixture, or the opening on its holder, and check that a 5-inch ball is the right match. Not sure? Send us a photo and we will tell you.
To fit it, switch off the light and let the glass cool fully. Take off the old ball, set this one on the holder, and check it is secure before you switch back on. Need help? We will guide you on a free video call.

FAQ
Will a 5-inch borosilicate glass ball fit my chandelier?
It will if your fixture takes a 5-inch (127 mm) ball. Measure the old ball, or the opening on the holder, before you order. Send us a photo and we will check the match for you.
Is this a complete light?
No. It is a glass spare part with no wiring, socket or bulb. It sits on the holder of a chandelier arm, jhumar drop, wall bracket or lamp you already have.
Why is borosilicate glass better for a chandelier ball?
It handles the steady heat of a bulb without cracking the way ordinary glass can over time. It also reacts less with household cleaners, so it stays clear-looking for longer.
What is the WaveStripe texture?
WaveStripe is a raised rib pattern handcrafted into the glass. Unlit, it gives the ball depth. Lit, it breaks the light into soft, layered stripes and cuts glare.
Can I order several balls that all match?
Yes. This is a catalogue part made to one size and pattern, so balls ordered in different batches match. For large project sets, ask us for a quote.
How do I clean this glass ball?
Switch off the light and let the glass cool fully. Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Skip rough cloths and harsh cleaners, which can scratch the WaveStripe ribs.
How soon will it reach me?
In stock, it ships in 4 working days. Not in stock, we make it in 12–15 working days, and a custom size or colour takes 15–20 days. Shipping is free across India.
