Cane & Fabric Layered Drum Pendant Light – 45 cm

A cane hanging light with a little colour. Hang it over your dining table and the evening slows down. A band of natural cane, woven by hand, sits between two flared cotton fabric cones. Switch it on and the weave glows, while the cones send a warm wash down onto the table and up onto the ceiling.

This cane pendant light is 45 cm across and 38 cm tall. Choose terracotta, with both cones in a warm rust-orange cotton, or teal, with a black top cone and a teal bottom cone. Both share the same cane band and a black fitting.

Cane from the earth, woven by hand

Cane belongs to our Fibre family. It is cut from the outer skin of the rattan palm, a climbing plant, then split into fine strands and dried.

Our craftsman weaves those strands into the open, honeycomb webbing you know from old Indian cane chairs. He binds the webbing into a ring with a cane-strip edge, and sets it between the two cotton cones.

Natural cane is never uniform. One strand runs a little darker, another a little thicker. We leave that alone. It is how you know a person made it.

Then the light does its part. Small points of warm light pass through the weave, and a soft woven pattern falls on nearby walls. The cotton cones stay solid and rich in colour. This is ambient light, made for atmosphere rather than hard task light.

Where this cane pendant light works best

Over a dining table or kitchen island. Hang the base 75–85 cm above the surface. One suits a 4–6 seat table. Hang a pair over a longer table.

In the living room or bedroom. Centre it over the seating, or let it be the soft focal point of the room.

In an entryway or reading corner. A warm, natural welcome as you walk in.

It sits well with wood, linen, rattan and cane furniture and warm neutral walls. Boho, coastal, warm-modern and Japandi rooms all suit it. It works on standard ceilings of 2.4 m and above, and the cord is shortened for lower ones.

Light, fitting and the steel inside

The frame and the 8 cm canopy are 304-grade stainless steel with a black finish. That steel carries a lifetime warranty against rusting on orders from 4 October 2026.

It hangs on a black cord, with an overall drop of up to 85 cm as standard. The cord is shortened at installation to suit your room.

It takes one E27 bulb. The bulb is not included; fit a 3000K warm-white LED. Want brighter light over the table? Pick a higher-lumen warm-white LED. It runs on 220–240V and is not dimmable.

It is rated IP20, for indoor dry rooms only. Keep cane and cotton away from bathrooms, outdoors and damp. To clean, dust it gently with a soft, dry brush.
