Crystal Chandelier Indore: The Sapphire Estate’s 16-Foot Script

Crystal chandelier Indore: 16-foot custom script chandelier being installed at The Sapphire Estate

Quick Answer

This is the crystal chandelier Indore project we built for The Sapphire Estate — a 16-foot custom crystal “script” chandelier that spells a flowing cursive word in light across a double-height lobby ceiling. We hand-shaped each curl from channels packed with cut crystal rods, hung them on near-invisible cables, and lit them warm. JagMag designed, made and installed it in-house in India.

Walk into The Sapphire Estate in Indore and you don’t look at the walls. You look up.

A long ribbon of crystal floats above the marble floor. It curls and loops like beautiful handwriting. From the right angle, it reads like a word written in light.

People stop. They take a photo before they even reach the desk.

That is the power of one well-made statement light. And that is exactly what this crystal chandelier Indore install was built to do.

Let me show you how we made it.

What’s on this page

The brief: fill a tall, empty lobby

The Sapphire Estate has a double-height entrance. Think two floors of open air above your head, with a wide marble reception and a cool grey stone counter.

Tall spaces are tricky. Here’s the thing. A normal chandelier looks tiny and lost up there. It floats like a small dot in a big room.

The owners wanted the opposite. They wanted the ceiling itself to become the showpiece.

So they came to us for a custom piece. Not something off a shelf. Something made only for this room.

The design: a chandelier shaped like handwriting

We went with a “script” idea. That means the whole chandelier is drawn like a word in cursive — one long, flowing line of curls and loops.

Look at the photos and you’ll see it. Each loop is a curved metal channel. Inside each channel sit dozens of vertical crystal rods, side by side, like a row of glass piano keys.

When the warm bulbs switch on, light runs along every rod. The whole script glows and sparkles at once.

Now you might be thinking: won’t a 16-foot light feel heavy? It doesn’t. Because each curl hangs on its own thin steel cable, the piece looks like it’s floating. Light, airy, and a little magical.

The shape isn’t random either. It echoes the estate’s own name in handwriting — so the lobby feels personal, not borrowed from a catalogue. That is the joy of a true crystal chandelier Indore custom build: it belongs to one room and no other.

Picking the right drop height matters most in tall rooms. A good rule for two-storey spaces is to keep the bottom of the fixture near the first-floor line so it never hangs too low — this two-storey foyer guide from Seus Lighting explains it well. How we built this crystal chandelier in Indore, step by step

A piece this big is not bought. It’s built. Here’s how we did it.

1. We drew the script. First we mapped the cursive shape to fit the exact lobby width and ceiling. Every curl was planned on paper before any metal was cut.

2. We made the frames in-house. Our workshop bent the curved channels by hand and matched them into one continuous line.

3. We loaded the crystal. Each channel was filled with cut crystal rods, set close together so light spreads evenly with no dark gaps.

4. We wired it warm. We fitted warm bulbs so the crystal glows golden, not cold and blue. Warm light makes marble and stone look richer.

5. We installed it safely. On site, our team hung each loop on its own steel cable from a strong ceiling fixing, then levelled the whole script by eye. Big lobby fixtures need solid anchoring — scale and safe loading really matter, as this guide to lobby statement chandeliers points out.

Why pick a maker, not an importer?

This is the real difference. Many lighting sellers in India just import finished lights from China and resell them. We make ours.

For a one-of-a-kind piece like this crystal chandelier Indore script, that matters a lot. Here’s why.

What you care aboutJagMag (maker)Typical importer
Fully custom shapeYes — drawn for your roomLimited to stock designs
Custom lead time15–20 working days60–120 days
Spare parts laterYes, 10+ years (we still make it)Often gone once stock ends
Repairs / supportOur own in-house team, fastWait on an overseas supplier
Make the same piece againYes, any timeOften can’t re-source

JagMag is a government-recognised (DPIIT) and government-funded Make-in-India lighting manufacturer. So if one crystal rod ever needs replacing in five years, we simply make it again. An importer usually can’t.

FAQs about this crystal chandelier in Indore

How big is this crystal chandelier in Indore?
It’s about 16 feet wide. It was sized to span the full double-height lobby at The Sapphire Estate, so it fills the space instead of floating like a dot.

Is it real crystal?
Yes. The loops are filled with cut crystal rods. Real crystal throws more sparkle and depth than plain glass when the light hits it.

How long does a custom piece like this take?
For most custom chandeliers we work to a 15–20 working day build window. A very large script like this is planned in stages, but it’s still far quicker than the 60–120 days typical with imported custom work.

Can you make a different word or shape?
Yes. The script can follow any name, logo curve, or free-flowing shape you like. That’s the whole point of a custom build — it’s drawn for you.

Will I get spare parts years later?
Yes. Because we manufacture in-house in India, we can remake any part even 10+ years on. You’re never stuck with a light no one can fix.
