The right office pendant light does one job well. It brings warm, focused light down to a table where people meet, think or welcome a guest. Hang one long linear pendant over a meeting table, or a row of small globes over a reception counter. Keep the bottom 75–85 cm above the tabletop and 210 cm clear over any walkway. Let the ceiling lights do the general lighting, and let the pendant set the mood.
That is the short answer. The rest of this guide shows you where office hanging lights work, which size to pick and how high to hang them, with real pieces from our own Greater Noida factory.
Key takeaways
- Pendants are for places, not whole floors. Meeting tables, cabins, reception counters and pantries.
- Length follows the table. A linear pendant about two-thirds the table’s length looks right.
- Height decides comfort. 75–85 cm over a table. 210 cm clear over a walkway.
- Our light is warm. Every JagMag light is 3000K warm white. Pair it with your ceiling lights for screen work.
Where do office hanging lights work best?
An office has two kinds of light. The first is the even light from the ceiling grid that lets people read and type all day. The second is the light that makes a space feel like somewhere. Pendants do the second job.
Here’s where they earn their place:
- Conference and meeting rooms. One long pendant over the table pulls everyone in. It frames the table like a dining table at home.
- The director’s cabin. A single pendant over the desk or a small round meeting table makes the room feel calm and considered.
- Reception. Two or three small pendants over the counter. It is the first light a visitor sees.
- Pantry and café corner. A row of globes over the counter makes a tea break feel like a real break.
- Lounge and waiting area. One sculptural piece over a coffee table.
Over open rows of work desks, pendants are a design choice, not a must. If you hang them there, keep them in a straight line over each desk run and keep the ceiling lights on.

Which office pendant light suits a meeting table?
A long table wants a long light. A linear pendant spreads the glow from one end of the table to the other, so no one sits in shadow.
Our black linear chandelier is a 120 cm bar of 304-grade stainless steel in matte black or chrome. A built-in 3000K warm-white LED glows through a frosted diffuser, so there is no bulb to change. It suits a 6–8 seater table. Quiet, clean, and very easy to live with.
For a boardroom that should feel grand, the linear crystal chandelier runs 165 cm long. Hand-woven K9 crystal beads sit on a chrome-finish stainless steel frame. G9 holders, bulbs not included; fit 3000K warm-white LEDs. Clients notice it the moment they walk in.
Want something softer? The linear LED chandelier carries a white silicone ribbon on a 150 cm gold-finish bar. The ribbon loops like a line drawn by hand. It suits a creative studio or a design office.

How do you size a pendant for an office table?
Use the table, not the room.
- Linear pendant: about two-thirds of the table’s length. A 180 cm table suits a 120 cm bar. A 240–250 cm table suits a 150–165 cm piece.
- Leave the ends free. Keep at least 30 cm between the end of the light and the end of the table.
- Round table: one pendant about half the table’s width. A 120 cm round table suits a shade around 50–60 cm.
- Reception counter: two or three small globes, 15–20 cm each, spaced 60–75 cm apart.
Not sure? Send us the table size on WhatsApp. We will tell you which piece fits, and we can make a custom length in 15–20 working days.
How high should office hanging lights be?
Height decides whether a pendant feels right or gets in the way.
- Over a meeting table or desk: keep the bottom of the light 75–85 cm above the tabletop. People see each other across the table, and the light stays out of their eyes.
- Over a walkway or reception floor: keep at least 210 cm clear from the floor to the bottom of the light.
- Over a high counter: 75–85 cm above the counter top, same as a kitchen island.
Our pendants hang on 1.5 m of wire, cord or rod as standard. Your electrician shortens it at installation to the height you want. If your office has a false ceiling, fix the light to the concrete slab above with a hook or threaded rod. The board should never carry the weight.
What about office ceiling lights and general light?
This is the honest part. Every light we make glows at 3000K warm white. Nothing we make is dimmable.
Warm light is right for meeting rooms, cabins, receptions, lounges and pantries. It makes a space feel welcoming, and people relax and talk. But a floor where people work on screens for eight hours needs bright, even light across every desk. Around 500 lux on the desk is the common target for reading and screen work. That comes from your ceiling grid or panel lights.
So the best office lighting design uses both. Ceiling lights for the work. Office pendant lights for the places that should feel like somewhere. For a low ceiling in a cabin, a flush light close to the ceiling can replace a pendant. See our flush mount ceiling light guide.
Which material suits which office?
The material is what people remember. It tells them who you are before anyone speaks.
- Stainless steel and LED: clean, quiet, modern. Right for a tech office or a law firm. Every metal part we make is 304-grade stainless steel, with a lifetime warranty against rust on orders from 4 October 2026.
- K9 crystal: for a boardroom, a hotel office or a showroom. It sparkles without shouting.
- Borosilicate glass: our glass globe pendant light has a 15 cm opal borosilicate glass globe that glows soft and even. Three in a row over a reception or café counter look calm. The ribbed glass ball pendant light in smoked borosilicate glass adds a little depth for a lounge.
- Natural stone: an alabaster pendant light is a 400 mm cylinder of real alabaster, cut by hand. A built-in 3000K LED makes the whole stone glow, and every stone’s veins are its own. Hang a few at different heights over a reception for a welcome no one forgets.

A craftsman in our factory looks at each material before deciding how to work with it. The crystal is strung bead by bead. The glass is blown by hand. The stone is read for its veins before it is cut. That care shows up on your ceiling, every working day.
Don’t forget the walls
A pendant over the table and a soft wash on the wall make a meeting room feel finished. Our slim LED wall light is a 60 cm matte black bar that glows from behind, so you see the light on the wall, not a bare lamp. It looks good beside a screen wall or along a corridor to the cabins.

FAQs
What is the best office pendant light for a conference room?
A linear pendant about two-thirds the length of the table. A 120 cm bar suits a 180 cm table; a 150–165 cm piece suits a 240–250 cm table.
How high should office hanging lights be above a table?
Keep the bottom of the light 75–85 cm above the tabletop. Over walkways, keep at least 210 cm clear from the floor.
Can pendant lights replace office ceiling lights?
Not on a work floor. Desks need bright, even light from the ceiling. Pendants add warmth and focus over meeting tables, cabins and reception counters.

3000K warm white. Built-in LEDs are 3000K, and holder lights come without a bulb, so fit a 3000K warm-white LED. None of our lights is dimmable.
Can you make a custom length for my office?
Yes. A custom size or finish takes 15–20 working days from our Greater Noida factory. Send the table and ceiling size, and we will suggest the right length.
Light the places where work becomes conversation
The ceiling grid lets people work. The pendant over the table is where ideas get argued, decided and shaken on. Give that place a light that feels like it was made for it.
