Overview
The retro table lamp you’ve been looking for is finally here — this Black & Gold Disc design brings mid-century character to any study desk, bedside table or reading nook with no effort at all. Standing 49 cm tall with a bold 35 cm flat disc shade in matte black, the silhouette is confident and deliberately nostalgic. Three G9 lamps tuck neatly beneath the disc and throw a warm, focused pool of light downward — ideal for reading, laptop work or quiet evenings at a desk. A discreet pull-chain on the stem keeps the controls tactile and the look clean.
Where it fits
This retro table lamp belongs in a study or home office where its directed downward light makes reading and focused work comfortable without flooding the whole room. It sits just as well on a bedside table, bringing an old-school charm to rooms that favour dark tones, warm wood or leather furniture. For a complementary pairing in a black-and-gold colour story, look at the Black Gold Table Lamp with Drum Shade; for another retro-inspired bedside option, the Retro Mushroom Table Lamp offers a softer, globe-lit alternative in warm amber.
Why you’ll use it every day
The retro table lamp rewards daily use in small but satisfying ways. The pull-chain on/off is tactile and quiet — no fumbling for a rocker switch in the dark. The flat disc keeps your desk sightline clear, and the warm downward glow from three G9 bulbs is easy on the eyes during long study or work sessions. Because it uses standard G9 fittings, swapping a bulb takes under a minute. The retro table lamp’s matte-black shade absorbs ambient reflections so the light stays focused, not scattered.
Light & finish
This retro table lamp is fitted with three G9 sockets — use 4–6W warm-white LED capsules (3000K recommended) for a cosy, focused pool that flatters books, notebooks and laptop screens alike. The matte black disc shade contrasts sharply with the polished gold-finish metal stem and round base, giving the retro table lamp its signature mid-century look without any visual heaviness. The pull-chain switch on the stem is old-school in the best way: reliable, quiet and built to last.

Vastu
In Vaastu Shastra, a retro table lamp placed in the southeast or east corner of a study room activates the fire element — encouraging focus, concentration and career growth. The gold-finish metal stem channels the warmth and prosperity energy associated with metallic tones in traditional Indian home design. Keep it on a stable surface at desk height and use a warm-white 3000K bulb for the most balanced, grounded energy. Avoid cool daylight bulbs, which Vaastu advises against in personal and work spaces.
Care
·Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
·Spot-clean with a pH-neutral cleaner on a cloth — never spray directly.
·Wipe the stainless steel gently dry after cleaning. Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals.
·Indoor use only unless an IP rating is specified.
·Switch off the circuit before any electrical maintenance.
·Check mounting hardware periodically and tighten if needed.
FAQ
Where does a retro table lamp look best?
A retro table lamp fits perfectly on a study desk, bedside table or console table. The focused downward disc light makes it practical for reading while the black-and-gold silhouette works as a decorative accent even when switched off.
What light source does this retro table lamp use?
This retro table lamp uses three G9 socket fittings. Bulbs are not included — we recommend 4–6W warm-white LED G9 capsules for a 3000K glow that is easy on the eyes during long work or study sessions.
Is the retro table lamp suitable for bedside use?
Yes. At 49 cm tall, this retro table lamp sits at an ideal height on a standard bedside table. The disc casts light downward onto your book without spilling onto the ceiling or disturbing a sleeping partner.
How do I clean a retro table lamp?
Wipe the matte black disc shade and gold-finish metal stem with a soft dry microfibre cloth. Avoid wet cloths or harsh chemicals — a dry or slightly damp cloth keeps this retro table lamp looking its best for years.
Can I get this retro table lamp in a different finish?
Yes — Jagmag Lights accepts custom finish requests. Message us with your preferred colour or metal tone and we’ll share options and lead times. Custom finishes are made in our own factory in 15–20 working days.
Is this a good retro study lamp for a desk?
Yes. At 49 cm tall, the 35 cm disc sits just above eye level and throws its light down onto your book or laptop, not into your eyes. It takes three G9 bulbs (not included); fit 3000K warm-white LED capsules for long study hours.
Does this retro table lamp come with installation support?
Yes. Jagmag provides free video-call installation support for every order. Any local electrician can fit this retro table lamp in 30–45 minutes — it’s a standard plug-in lamp requiring no permanent wiring.
