Overview
This brass desk lamp was designed for people who want precise task light without sacrificing style. Built on a counterbalanced balance arm that extends to 60 cm, the brass desk lamp lets you swing its frosted cylindrical spot exactly where it is needed — over a drawing, an open book, or a keyboard — and fold the arm back to reclaim the surface when you are done. Standing 48 cm tall on a weighted matte black disc base, it pairs a matte black metal frame and arm with a brushed-gold finish metal spot head for a look that works in modern, industrial, and eclectic interiors alike. The result is a brass desk lamp that earns its space on any desk or bedside table. If you want a black desk lamp with a touch of gold at the head, this is the one.
Where it fits
The brass desk lamp is purpose-built for desks and worktables — a study desk in a bedroom, a home office writing table, an architect’s drawing table, or a bedside reading setup where you want directed light you can aim and re-aim. Its slim, articulated silhouette does not crowd the surface the way a wide-shade lamp would, so it works equally well in tight spaces. If you want a warmer ambient companion to this brass desk lamp, consider the Art Deco Brass Table Lamp for glowing fill light, or the Black Gold Table Lamp with Drum Shade for a diffused drum-shade glow that complements the brass and black palette.
Why you’ll use it every day
What makes a brass desk lamp worth the counter space is how it fits around your work, not the other way around. The counterbalanced arm stays exactly where you set it — no slow drift, no readjusting every hour. The tilting spot head lets you direct the frosted beam downward for close work or angle it slightly upward for gentler ambient fill. The inline on/off switch on the cord sits within reach, so there is no fumbling under a shade. A 5–7W GU10 LED at 3000K gives you warm, glare-softened task light that does not cause eye strain through long evening work sessions. This brass desk lamp is built for daily, all-day use.
Light & finish
This brass desk lamp takes a GU10 bulb (not included). A 5–7W warm-white LED at 3000K is recommended — it delivers focused, soft-edged task light with enough warmth to feel comfortable during long evening sessions, without the cold, clinical tone of a daylight bulb. The frosted diffuser lens inside the cylindrical spot spreads the beam just enough to eliminate harsh central hot spots. On the finish: the matte black metal frame and arm resist fingerprints and casual dust, while the brushed-gold finish metal spot head adds warmth to both the lamp’s appearance and its light. IP20 rated for dry indoor use.

Vastu
Vaastu Shastra recommends placing a task lamp in the southeast corner of a study or work room, where the fire element rules and supports energy, focus, and productivity. A brass desk lamp in warm gold tones is particularly well-aligned with this placement — gold and brass colours are associated with the fire element and are considered auspicious for work and learning spaces. If the southeast corner is not available, the east corner (knowledge and air element) is an ideal secondary position for a brass desk lamp used for study or reading. Either way, use a warm 3000K bulb for the best Vaastu outcome.
Care
·Dust regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
·Spot-clean with a pH-neutral cleaner on a cloth — never spray directly.
·Wipe the stainless steel gently dry after cleaning.
·Avoid abrasives and harsh chemicals.
·Indoor use only unless an IP rating is specified.
·Switch off the circuit before any electrical maintenance.
·Check mounting hardware periodically and tighten if needed.
FAQ
Where does a brass desk lamp look best?
A brass desk lamp looks best on a study desk, home office table, or architect’s worktable where directed task light is the priority. It also works beautifully as a bedside reading lamp — angle the spot downward to light a book without disturbing the rest of the room.
What light source does this brass desk lamp use?
This brass desk lamp uses a GU10 fitting. A 5–7W warm-white LED at 3000K is recommended for focused, low-heat, energy-efficient task light. The bulb is not included in the box.
Is the brass desk lamp suitable for bedside use?
Yes. At 48 cm tall with a 60 cm counterbalanced arm, the brass desk lamp sits comfortably on a standard bedside table. Angle the frosted spot downward for close reading or tilt it away for a softer ambient tone without waking your partner.
How do I clean a brass desk lamp?
Wipe the matte black metal frame and arm with a dry microfibre cloth. For the brushed-gold finish spot head, a slightly damp cloth works well — avoid abrasive pads or harsh chemical cleaners that could dull the finish. Dust the frosted diffuser lens monthly to maintain even light output.
Can I get this brass desk lamp in a different finish?
Yes — Jagmag Lights accepts custom finish orders. Message us with your preferred colour or finish and we will confirm availability, lead times, and pricing for your brass desk lamp order.
Does this brass desk lamp come with installation support?
Yes — Jagmag provides free video call support for every purchase. This brass desk lamp is a standard plug-in lamp with no hardwiring required. Any electrician can set it up in 30–45 minutes, and our team is on hand to help if needed.
