It is a long, slim leaf of clear borosilicate glass, 150 mm long and 50 mm wide. Fine ridges run along its length, like the veins of a bamboo leaf. A small round hole near one end lets it hang from the frame. It is a spare part, not a light, and it comes 100 pieces to a box.

What is this bamboo glass leaf made of?

The leaf is clear borosilicate glass. It is melted from natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. Nothing is painted on and no colour is added, so the glass stays crystal-clear.

Each leaf is shaped by hand in our Greater Noida factory. The craftsman draws the hot glass into a long leaf and presses in the ridges. Then he gives it a gentle curve and forms the hanging hole. Because hands do this work, the ridges and the curve change a little from leaf to leaf. On a jhumar, that small difference is what makes the leaves look alive.

Borosilicate glass handles heat well. So the leaf stays good on a light you switch on every evening, for years.

Switch the light on and it passes clean through the glass. Every ridge catches a thin line of brightness. A cluster of leaves sparkles softly, like leaves after rain.

Which lights does a 150 mm glass leaf fit?

At 150 × 50 mm and 5 mm thick, this is a mid-size leaf. It suits:

• Glass-leaf chandeliers and jhumars. Replace a broken or missing leaf, or rebuild a full cascade.
• Hanging lights. A ring of clear leaves around a pendant makes it look fuller.
• Wall lights. A few leaves on a bracket add sparkle without crowding the wall.

Which bulb looks best behind clear glass leaves?

Use a 3000K warm-white LED in the parent light. Warm light gives clear glass a soft, warm sparkle and keeps the room cosy. This part has no wiring, holder or bulb of its own.
