Know your light
A smoke glass globe that does two jobs at once — it softens a bare bulb into a warm cloud of light while adding a handcrafted decorative accent to any chandelier, pendant or lamp fitting. Each globe is individually hand-blown from borosilicate glass, which means the grey cloud marbling shifts from piece to piece; no two are identical.
Where it fits
- Jhumars and chandeliers — swap out a cracked or plain globe to refresh a multi-arm jhujhar without replacing the full fitting. The smoky tone mutes individual bulbs, letting the frame take centre stage.
- Pendant clusters — hang a single globe pendant in a hallway, bedroom corner, or above a study desk for a soft, diffused pool of light.
- Table and floor lamp retrofits — fit it onto a globe-style lamp base when the original shade has gone missing or looks dated.
- Decorative display — set unlit on a shelf or mantle; the grey marbled glass looks sculptural in daylight without any light source behind it.
Why you’ll use it every day
Bare bulbs are harsh. This globe slips over the fitting and immediately breaks that direct glare into a diffused ambient glow — the kind that makes a room feel settled in the evening rather than lit up for a medical exam. Because it is hand-blown from borosilicate glass, it holds shape through the heat cycles of daily use without cracking the way ordinary glass can.
The smoke finish isn’t a coating or a paint — it’s baked into the glass during blowing. So it doesn’t peel, fade, or need cleaning with anything other than a soft dry cloth. Low maintenance is built into the material itself.
Light & finish
Switch it on and the globe glows as a continuous cloud — you can’t see the individual filament or LED cluster inside, only a warm, diffused bloom of light. The grey marbling creates subtle light and dark zones across the globe’s surface, giving the cast light a slight texture rather than a flat wash.
Switch it off and the globe reads as a decorative object on its own. The cloudy, smoke-grey glass has enough depth to look interesting in natural daylight without any light source behind it — it sits on the shelf or chandelier arm and holds its own as a sculptural piece.
Vaastu & positive energy
In Vaastu Shastra, glass is associated with clarity and the unobstructed flow of light — both literal and symbolic. Round forms, free of sharp corners and edges, are considered ideal for allowing energy to circulate smoothly through a room rather than collecting at angles. The smoke finish sits in the grey-silver spectrum, which is linked to calm and balance — making this globe a considered choice for meditation corners, bedroom lamps, and living spaces where you want soft, unhurried energy in the evenings.

What buyers say
Common questions
What size fitter opening does this globe have?
The globe has a single circular fitter opening at the top. Because these are hand-blown pieces, there can be small variations between individual units. If you are buying this as a replacement for an existing fitting, compare with your old globe before ordering, or send us a photo of your chandelier fitting via WhatsApp — we will confirm compatibility before you pay.
Is the smoke finish a coating, or is it baked into the glass?
It is baked into the glass during the blowing process — not painted, sprayed, or applied as an external coating afterward. This means it cannot peel or fade with normal use. A dry or very lightly damp soft cloth is all you need to keep it clean.
Will every globe I order look exactly the same?
No — and that is intentional. Because each globe is hand-blown, the grey cloud marbling shifts in density and pattern from piece to piece. Two globes from the same batch will be similar in colour and overall size but not identical. This variation is the hallmark of genuine hand-blown glass, not a manufacturing defect.
Can I pair this with an LED bulb?
Yes. This is a shade component with no integrated wiring, so it works with whatever bulb is already on your fitting — LED, vintage filament, or CFL. For the most flattering effect through smoke glass, a warm-white LED (2700–3000 K) or an exposed-filament LED gives the richest glow and shows the marbling best when lit.
Is this sold as a single piece or in a set?
As a single globe. If you need multiples for a chandelier — say, six globes for a six-arm jhujhar — simply add the quantity you need to the cart. If you are ordering more than four, message us on WhatsApp so we can confirm stock from the same batch and keep colour variation between globes to a minimum.
What other glass components do you carry?
We stock a range of glass shades and components. If you like this smoke finish, the Flying Saucer Smoke Glass Pendant is a complete pendant fitting in the same smoke glass family. For a contrasting look, the Gold Glass Ball Lamp Shade is the same globe form in a warm gold finish.
