Borosilicate Glass Globe – 5 Inch Clear Ribbed Chandelier Part
A clear borosilicate glass globe, 5 inches round, with raised ribs running top to bottom. Each one is blown by hand, so the ribs catch your bulb and spread it in soft bands across the ceiling. Slide it onto a chandelier, jhumar or wall bracket that has lost its globe.

Overview
One glass globe breaks, and the whole chandelier looks unfinished. This borosilicate glass globe puts it right. It is 5 inches (127 mm) round, fully clear, with raised ribs running from top to bottom.
It is a spare part, not a light. It slides over the bulb holder on a chandelier arm, a jhumar drop, a pendant fitting or a wall bracket that takes a round globe.
What is this borosilicate glass globe made of?
Clear borosilicate glass. It is melted from natural raw ingredients: silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina. The result is glass that is crystal clear and pure.
Each globe is blown by hand, and the ribs are formed while the glass is still hot. So no two globes are exactly alike. A tiny mark or a slight change in a rib is part of handmade glass. It does not change how the globe spreads light or how strong it is.
Borosilicate glass also takes the daily heating and cooling of a light switched on and off. It does not develop hairline cracks over time, so you are not hunting for a new globe every few months.
What the ribs do with the light
A bare bulb throws one hard bright spot. The ribs break it up. Lit, the globe spreads soft vertical bands of light up the walls and across the ceiling. In a dark room it looks bright and jewel-like, without a harsh beam.
Switched off, the clear glass almost disappears. You see the chandelier arm and its finish, not a shade. That suits chandeliers where the metalwork is the hero: antique brass, antique bronze or gold finishes on 304-grade stainless steel.
A warm 3000K LED shows the ribs best. Cool daylight bulbs flatten the pattern into plain, even light.
Where a 5 inch glass globe fits
- A cracked or missing globe. The 5 inch size covers the arm-collar width most often used on Indian chandeliers and jhumars.
- A new chandelier build. Builders and electricians get the same globe for every arm, from one order, with no mixed sizes.
- A plain pendant drop. Slide it over a bare E27 or E14 holder and a simple drop becomes a finished point of light, without buying a new pendant.
- Wall brackets and arm sconces with a round globe collar, in hotel corridors, dining rooms and pooja niches, where a neat, closed look suits better than an open bulb.
Will it fit my chandelier?
The globe has a narrow fitter neck that sits on the holder collar (you can see it in the second photo), and a wide open mouth at the other end. Fix it with the fitter ring or collar that came with your chandelier.
Check your fixture’s collar size against the fitter neck before you order. Not sure? Send us a photo of the arm on WhatsApp or by email, and we will check it for you.
It works over E27 and E14 holders with LED, filament or CFL bulbs. Avoid very high-wattage halogen bulbs inside fully closed glass fittings. Long, trapped heat is more than most glass fittings are made for.
Pairs well with: the smaller clear glass ball 70mm in ribbed borosilicate glass for the short arms of the same chandelier, or the 5 inch WaveStripe glass ball to mix two textures on one jhumar.

FAQ
What is this glass globe used for?
It replaces or completes a globe on a chandelier, jhumar, pendant drop or wall bracket. It slides over the bulb holder and spreads the light in soft bands instead of a bare beam.
Is it real borosilicate glass?
Yes. It is clear borosilicate glass, melted from silica sand, boric oxide, soda ash and alumina, and blown by hand. It is not plastic or acrylic.
What size is the globe, and will it fit?
It is 5 inches (about 127 mm) in diameter. Check the fitter neck against your fixture’s collar before you order, or send us a photo and we will check it for you.
Does it come with a bulb?
No. You get the glass globe only. A warm 3000K LED on an E27 or E14 holder shows the ribs best.
How do I clean it?
Switch off and let the glass cool. Wipe it with a soft cloth and mild soapy water, then dry it. Skip rough pads, which can scratch the ribs.
How fast will it reach me?
Within 4 working days if it is in stock. If not, we make it for you in 12–15 working days, and a custom size or colour takes 15–20 days. Shipping is free across India.
