Know your light

This wood linear chandelier runs a 150 cm curved wood blade above a slim acrylic light tube, hung on two fine rods. The wood lifts at both ends like the prow of a boat. Below it the tube glows an even warm white, with no bulbs and no glare.

Where it fits

A wood linear chandelier is built for long surfaces, not square rooms.

  • Over a dining table: At 150 cm it suits a 6 to 8 seater. Hang the tube 75-90 cm above the tabletop.
  • Above a kitchen island: One continuous line of light beats three separate pendants for prep work.
  • Over a long console or tea table: The horizontal form draws the eye along the surface rather than down onto one spot.
  • Meeting rooms and reception desks: Even, glare-free light across a working surface, in a form that does not look like office lighting.

Why you will use it every day

Two materials, and neither is trying to be a chandelier.

The blade is wood with the grain running its whole length, brushed rather than lacquered. Look closely and you see the curve is cut, not bent — the lift at each end is part of the piece, and the edge catches light differently along its length. That is what stops this wood linear chandelier feeling like a light fitting and makes it read as an object.

The tube below is acrylic, not glass. That matters more than it sounds. Acrylic diffuses more evenly than glass at this length, so you get one continuous band of light rather than bright and dim patches. It is also far less likely to break in transit or in a busy kitchen.

The LED is integrated at 12 W and 3000K, so it draws about as much as a ceiling fan on low and gives a warm, unfussy light. No bulbs to buy, none to match, and nothing visible when it is off.

We build it in our own Greater Noida factory and hold spare parts for 10+ years — on a fixture this size, being able to reorder a matching tube years later is worth more than the discount.

Light & finish

Switched on, the wood linear chandelier gives one unbroken line of warm light. The acrylic hides the diodes completely, so you see a glowing bar, not a row of dots.

Light goes downward and outward onto the table, while the wood blade above catches the spill and warms it further. Nothing shines into the eyes of anyone seated, which is the failing of most long pendant runs.

Unlit, it is a horizontal line of wood on a ceiling. Against plaster, concrete, fluted panelling or a dark feature wall it reads as architecture rather than as a fitting.

Vaastu & positive energy

Wood is the living material in Vaastu, tied to growth and calm.

A wood linear chandelier brings it directly over the table, which is where a family gathers — and warm 3000K light rather than cool white suits eating and talking rather than working. Over a dining surface, that combination is generally the preferred one.

The upward curve at each end is worth noting. Rising forms are usually read as expansive rather than pressing down, and the piece carries no sharp downward points over the people seated beneath it.

Common questions

What size table suits a wood linear chandelier?

A 180-240 cm table seating 6 to 8. The general rule is that the fixture should be about two thirds the length of the table, and at 150 cm this one lands right for that range.

How high should I hang it?

75-90 cm from the tabletop to the bottom of the tube. Overall height is 95 cm including the rods, and we can adjust the drop before dispatch — tell us your ceiling height when you order.

Does the wood linear chandelier need bulbs?

No. The LED is integrated at 12 W and 3000K warm white, sealed inside the acrylic tube. Nothing to buy and nothing to replace.

Why acrylic rather than glass?

Over 150 cm, acrylic diffuses far more evenly, so the tube reads as one continuous band of light instead of bright and dim patches. It also survives transit and a busy kitchen better than a glass tube of the same length.

Is 12 W bright enough over a dining table?

For ambient dining light, yes — the whole 150 cm length is emitting, so the light is spread rather than concentrated. If you also prep food at the same surface, plan on under-cabinet or downlights alongside it.

Can I get the wood linear chandelier in a different length or finish?

Yes. We manufacture in-house, so length, wood finish and metal tone can all change. Custom runs take 15-20 days against 60-120 days for an imported equivalent.

How do I clean it?

Dry microfibre cloth along the wood grain, and the same on the acrylic tube. Avoid solvents and alcohol-based cleaners on acrylic, which can craze the surface. Planning it over a specific table? Send us the table length and we will confirm the right size.
