Know your light
The Rattan Hanging Lamp is a handwoven pendant with a rounded 40 cm shade woven from natural rattan in soft blue, natural tan, and white. Its bulbous dome tapers to a narrow flared neck at the top, where a black cord and slim black ceiling canopy complete the look. Designed for kitchens, dining areas, and living spaces, it casts a warm, patterned glow through the open weave while adding a coastal or Japandi-leaning texture to the room.
Where it fits
- Over a breakfast bar or kitchen island — the 40 cm shade reads as a single statement above a counter up to 90 cm across, or use two or three spaced 70–80 cm apart along a longer island run.
- Dining table centrepiece — hang it over a round or rectangular table up to 120 cm across; the bulbous shape and patterned light suit relaxed family dinners and decorative tablescapes alike.
- Living room reading corner — drop it lower on the 1.5 m cord to work as a sculptural accent in a coastal, boho, or wabi-sabi room arrangement.
- Café or studio workspace — pairs naturally with white walls, exposed wood, and stone surfaces wherever a warm, textured light point is needed.
Why you’ll use it every day
The woven shade turns a bare bulb into a warm, dappled light that feels relaxed rather than clinical — easy on the eyes over morning coffee or a late dinner. Over an island it gives you focused light for prep work and homework while the pattern through the weave keeps the wider room feeling soft and inviting. Because it hangs from a cord you keep the counter and table clear, and the natural rattan adds instant texture to white, tiled, or coastal interiors that a plain shade simply cannot.
Light & finish
Fitted with a single E27 bulb (not included), the pendant suits a warm-white LED for a cosy glow through the open weave. The natural-tan, white, and soft-blue rattan creates a subtle patterned shadow on surrounding walls and ceiling when lit, and looks like textured sculptural craft when unlit. It pairs naturally with light wood, rattan furniture, white cabinetry, linen, and stone or quartz worktops — equally at home in coastal, boho, Japandi, or any natural-fibre interior.
Vaastu & positive energy
In Vaastu-oriented interiors, natural rattan is associated with the earth element — grounding, calm, and a sense of warmth traditionally considered suitable for gathering spaces such as kitchens and dining areas. The rounded, bulbous form is commonly preferred for keeping energy flowing smoothly without the angular edges of square or rectangular fixtures. Hung as a balanced pair or trio above a shared table, the arrangement reads as ordered and harmonious. The soft, diffused glow through the weave is traditionally considered restful and welcoming in living and social spaces.

The lamp is beautiful, I haven't installed it yet, but it has very good finishes. It came carefully packaged, with great care, which is appreciated, as on such a long journey many mishaps can occur. I recommend the seller and the product! Thank you!

Common questions
How wide is the rattan hanging lamp?
The woven shade is 40 cm in diameter and about 30 cm tall, with a 10 cm canopy and a cord adjustable up to 1.5 m — proportioned to work singly over a small round table or in a row of two or three over a kitchen island.
Is a bulb included?
No. It takes one standard E27 bulb; a warm-white LED is recommended for the best glow through the open weave.
How high should I hang it over an island?
Keep the base of the shade about 75–90 cm above the worktop so the light pools on the surface without blocking sightlines across the room; use the adjustable cord to fine-tune the drop.
Can I use more than one?
Yes — two or three pendants spaced 70–80 cm apart suit a longer island or dining table well, and look particularly good in odd-number groupings.
Is it for indoor use only?
Yes. This pendant is designed for indoor rooms such as kitchens, dining areas, and living spaces. It is not rated for outdoor or damp locations.
What interior style does it suit best?
It works best in coastal, bohemian, and Japandi interiors, and pairs easily with light wood, rattan furniture, white cabinetry, and natural-fibre textiles. It can also anchor a Scandi or wabi-sabi room wherever a natural-texture hanging lamp is needed. Pairs well with our other pendant lights and natural-fibre fixtures.
